Are More Girls Lesbians Nowadays?

It seems like more young women are identifying themselves as lesbians than ever before. That perception is true whether you are on a college dorm or checking out a site like T&A Lesbians. Which begs the question, are more coed aged women engaging in lesbo action? We're going to find out today.
According to psychologists, the amount of women identifying themselves as lesbian or bi-curious has been hovering around 2 percent. Nowadays, the figure has is around 15 percent. Which begs the question. Are porn sites such as T&A Lesbians turning girls on to girl-on-girl loving, or is there something else going on.
Of course, this can all be debated to high heaven. Some people are saying that the easy access to lesbian porn on the Internet has stirred up all of this sapphic desire. There are other people who are saying that all women have the potential to be lesbian and they will say things like a straight women is just a lesbian who hasn't met the right woman.
So where does the truth lie? Honestly, I don't know. I am neither a psychologist, a sociologist or any other type of researcher. I am just a guy sitting at my computer, looking at some hot porn, and making some observations on society in general. However, that doesn't mean that I don't have an opinion on the subject. It just means that my opinion is worth less than someone with a fucking degree on their resume. I am a writer though, and you know that writers not only are full of opinions (and probably shit if you ask some people), but are more than willing to share these opinions with their readers. Which is exactly what I am going to do.
I personally don't think that there has been any change in the number of lesbians in the world. I think that 1-2 percent of women have been lesbians throughout history and that figure is probably going to remain pretty constant. Which doesn't mean that some girls aren't going to experiment with the idea, especially nowadays when there is less stigma on being a lesbian then there has been historically. Certainly, more girls are probably playing with the idea and may even be influenced by online porn. However, that doesn't mean these women are sexually attracted to other women. It just means that they feel safer exploring their sexuality. After which, many of these ladies will remain heterosexual. Of course, this does help make it seem like there is a sudden explosion in lesbianism in the world.
Another thing that I think adds to the perception that there are more lesbians now than ever before is that many women feel safer coming out. In the past, there was harsh social penalties, and maybe even criminal charges, for women that revealed they were lesbians.
Which bring my long-winded pedantic ass to my point. No, there aren't more women having lesbian sex, it just seems like there is. End of story. Now if you'll excuse me I have to head on over to How To Kiss A Girl and enjoy some real girl-on-girl action.
